The NOAA org chart normally refers to the institutional framework of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. The organization is an American scientific agency that analyzing data from the oceans and the atmosphere. National Weather Service (NWS)

The main duties of the department including offering daily reports for weather, hydrologic and climate changes in order to strengthen domestic economy. Basically, the overall study process is carried out by a number of national and regional centers, and forecast offices. Currently, NOAA is working on the topics of global warming and ozone depletion.

National Ocean Service (NOS)

This division in the NOAA org chart monitors the safety and productive factors of the ocean and coastal areas. NOS consists of many ocean scientists and resource managers to ensure efficient marine transportation, as well as improving innovative solutions for coastal communities. NOS also has an office for worldwide projects.

National Environmental Satellite, Data, and Information Service (NESDIS)

NESDIS was established to manage the US environmental satellite programs. The division also works with U.S. NavyU.S. Air Force, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), and worldwide meteorological services.

National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS)

NMFS has an over 100-years history. Main aims of the department are doing research, carrying out protection and management activities for commercial fisheries and protected species.

Office of Oceanic and Atmospheric Research (OAR)

OAR, which is listed in the NOAA org chart, is the driving force behind NOAA products and services. Research carried out by OAR focuses on strengthening the understanding of environmental phenomena, for example, hurricanes, climate variability, solar flares, El Niño events, deep-sea thermal vents and so on. The research system of NOAA is in large scale with over thousands of engineers, scientists, and even graduates.

Office of Program Planning and Integration (PPI)

The office focuses on establishing the organizational culture at NOAA. PPI aims to explore the needs for strategic management within NOAA.  A series of teams, programs, and councils are involved in planning activities for employees and partners.
